The Jesus Prayer

"Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, have mercy on me, a sinner."

I've enjoied saying this prayer sometimes hundreds of times a day. In the Eastern tradition this prayer begins vocally, then said in the mind, and eventually becomes a prayer of the heart where it is said to become "self active".
